TUBE TOWN STUDIOS

Located in the world-famous “Surf Ghetto” or “Shapers Alley” of renowned surf town, San Clemente, CA. Our goal at Tube Town is to give artists a place to be inspired with a comfortable “at home” feel, while providing high- quality studio services. Tube Town allows artists to record their art using the best gear in the business at an affordable price.

The studio was acquired by Hayden Hanson, frontman and songwriter of the band Tunnel Vision in 2020. With 10+ years of experience in being both a professional touring musician and an award winning engineer/producer, Hayden has made his footprint in the music industry both locally and nationally. The studio walls flash his surf/skate/music culture and continue to inspire new sounds and artists. This has made Tube Town a breeding ground and magnet for Reggae, Ska, and Punk Rock artists alike. Artists and bands, or members of… Sublime, Pepper, Steel Pulse, Black Uhuru, DENM, Chad Tepper, D.I., Soul Syndicate, Big Youth, Johnny Clarke, Dragon Force, ROBBER, and many more, have all recorded here at Tube Town.

THE STUDIO

We have a comfortable multi-room location that includes:

A beautifully isolated control room for listening and playback with comfortable seating for the whole band. Stacked with both vintage and modern outboard gear and professional monitoring options, we make your listening and tracking experience as comfortable as possible.

One large, carefully sound-crafted live room built with intention to capture your sound creatively and accurately. With a proper floating floor, underneath lies a sand chamber to absorb unwanted low frequencies and no 90 degree angles within the entirety of the room to ensure proper sound reflection.

We also have one smaller isolation booth for additional vocals or cabinets accessible via the control room with windows for visibility on either side. This room is great for any live-tracking situation where additional isolation is needed for either a vocalist or cabinet and allows the freedom to get back and forth quickly for seamless workflow.

Need a break? Are you bored and waiting for your bandmates to track their parts? Have no fear…we’ll keep you entertained in the studio break room! Complete with 3 arcade cabinets, a slot machine, and a pinball machine!

RECORDING RATES

Studio time is priced at $100/hr

FULL DAY SPECIAL RATE $700 (8hrs or until we are tired / get what we need to get done). That’s right we’ll give you an hour FREE. We do this to incentivize a full day of work so we’re not watching the clock, and we can focus on the music! It’s better for you and us!

REHEARSAL RATES

Rehearsals are priced at $100 for a 3 hour block. 3 hours minimum. Every hour after that is $25/hr for as long as you want.

Rehearsals take place in the live room. We have a full backline available including a full drum kit, bass amp and cabs, a PA system with mics and stands, and guitar amps and cabs if requested. Plug and play. that easy. We will dial in the sound and get it sounding great for you and the band. Drummers please bring “breakables” such as cymbals, kick pedals, and snares. We have those for rent upon request as well.
